Sweetwater West Construction Update
Week of September 11, 2022

This weekly update is provided to help inform residents of upcoming active work areas. Residents are asked to use caution near construction areas and understand this schedule could be affected by weather or other unforeseen conditions.

OCPS SCHOOL BUS ROUTE CHANGE: Orange County Public Schools Transportation has designated one stop in the community at Sweetwater Country Club Drive and Sweetwater West Circle. The buses will enter thru the main gate, make a right on Sweetwater West Circle, and depart thru the Welch Road gate. To allow for school bus movement and visibility, please do not park near the bus stop. This plan will remain in place until all sewer lines and asphalt have been installed. If needed, the OCPS Transportation contact is:

Denise Delapaz
Area Manager, Apopka
407-884-2208 IP 5003210
Email: denise.delapaz@ocps.net

TRAFFIC ALERT: Nightwork for the gravity sewer lines on Welch Road east of the community entrance continues. Expect nightly lane closures as needed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Remember to be alert to roadway changes and be safe!

PROJECT UPDATE: An additional crew is starting next week. A third crew (currently working on this project in the Highlands) will be joining us in the next one to two months and then we will have three pipe crews in Sweetwater West! With the increased construction activity, expect more noise, dust, and equipment. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

The project team is now targeting April 2023 for completion. The schedule may be impacted by weather, supply chain, or other unforeseen conditions, but know we are doing our best to finish as soon as possible!

THIS WEEK: Lapin Services will be installing the sewer line from the cleanout to the homes below. To do this they will need to dig a trench about two feet wide at the homes below. The process should take about 1-1 ½ days per home. Once the pipe has passed testing, the trench will be backfilled.
Prime Construction will sod the area as soon as possible pending sod delivery. Lapin Services will be working on the following homes in this order:

1742, 1738, 1730, 1726, 1714, 1718, 1710, 1706, 1692, 1684, 1681, 1680, 1659 Sweetwater West Circle
1317, 1324 Valley Pine Circle

A second crew will begin working on the sewer line at Misty Ridge Court. Driveway access will be impacted at the following homes:
Misty Ridge Ct.
The first crew will continue installing gravity sewer pipes and working on manholes on Sweetwater West Circle. Concrete work on the sidewalks and curb, and preparation for asphalt will occur throughout the week. Driveway access may be impacted at the following homes:

Homes on Sweetwater West Circle between Sweetwater Country Club Drive and Valley Pine Circle (closest to Longhill Dr.)

SOD: Is on order.

SERVICE CONNECTIONS TO HOMES: If Lapin Services has reached out to you and you have not yet done so, please complete the Orange County permit to allow them to work on the service connection. Please call Kim Smith, Lapin Services, at 407-841-8200 with any questions.

IRRIGATION: If you have a broken irrigation pipe due to construction, please contact Lisa Mark (contact info below) to alert the contractor and follow up until the repair is completed.

WASTE/YARD WASTE PICK-UP: If your trash, recycling, or yard waste is missed, please call the Orange County Solid Waste Hotline at 407-836-6601 to request a pick-up. Issues may also be reported via Orange County’s 311 phone number.
